Gary Jaburg

As the founder and managing partner of Jaburg Wilk, Gary has almost 40 years invested in building and operating a business. He utilizes this expertise to help his clients effectively and efficiently resolve both their business and legal issues, Gary’s particular talent lies in quickly developing a comprehensive understanding of facts, personalities and legal issues and subsequently devising a realistic, cost effective strategy for meeting his client’s goals. His direct, businesslike approach coupled with win-win negotiating style resonates with both clients and opposing counsel. It is a proven and successful style to resolve business and legal disputes.

Gary is outside general counsel for his entrepreneurial clients not only learning their business but also winning their trust and confidence. He is the connector in litigation and transactional matters, frequently being the go-between with litigation or transactional counsel and clients. By managing these complex relationships, he develops successful strategies for dispute resolution, deal negotiation or simply accomplishing the job.

Having represented hundreds of entrepreneurs and businesses, he understands both the legal and business issues that they encounter. Many entrepreneurs only contact their attorney when they have a problem. It could be a contract dispute with a customer or supplier; an employment related issue with one of their employees; or a conflict with a partner or shareholder. Often the conflict is a result of one or both of the parties having underlying financial difficulty and the entrepreneur is looking for a time and cost efficient way to resolve it. Gary’s expertise rests in combining the facts with the law and assessing the emotions/human aspects of the situation. He then develops strategies and tactics that maximize the business owner’s probability of obtaining the desired result.

In representing clients in transactional matters, Gary has the entrepreneurial mindset to evaluate risk/reward tradeoffs in the negotiating process, and not fall into the usual attorney mindset of only seeing the risks. In short, Gary’s expertise is in providing business and entrepreneurial clients with both common sense business and strategic legal advice to create practical, cost effective solutions.

Our Testimonials

What Our Clients Say

Gary Jaburg and Kraig Marton of Jaburg Wilk represented us in an employment dispute. The well-established reputations of Gary and Kraig garnered immediate credibility with the opposing lawyers. Throughout the process, they provided us with balanced and objective insights into the strengths and weaknesses of our position. At the same time they presented the strongest possible case to the other party and maximized our potential for success though citations to relevant case law, thoughtful venue selection, and a demonstrated willingness to “go the distance”. Mr. Jaburg in particular has an unmatched gift in high-stakes negotiation which ultimately resulted in a negotiated resolution prior to litigation being filed. The negotiation produced what I view as a best case outcome. I estimate we received a greater than ten-to-one return on the total amount of the legal fees we incurred with the firm. Gary and Kraig delivered both peace of mind and incredible value. Choosing the Jaburg Wilk team proved to be the best possible decision we could have made.

Gary helped me navigate the difficult waters of dispute resolution by clearly discussing the alternative strategies along with their pros and cons. He is forthright and his advice from years of experience is invaluable. Considering he is also managing partner of a very successful law firm, he is generous with his time and yet economical and efficient in his approach. The integrated practice of Jaburg Wilk is a good fit for an entrepreneur like me. They have advised me in matters of divorce, estate planning, tax matters, litigation, HR, insurance and real estate.

Gary is an extremely gifted lawyer. He gives practical, factual advice and is excellent at calming the client down when emotional. He has a team of lawyers he works with and I have found them to be professional, honest and of superior quality. I have worked with many law firms over the years as a CEO and this is the best law firm I have found in the Valley.

I've been a client of Jaburg Wilk for 4 years. During that time they've helped me with a variety of issues from contracts to representing me in litigation. Gary Jaburg and Roger Cohen did an excellent job navigating the legal waters, but they also have the soft-skills necessary to adapt and work productively with a variety of prickly personalities encountered in the legal profession. My litigation required expertise in several unrelated fields such as 1st amended rights and intellectual property. I'm glad to have a firm with attorneys specializing in each area of my suit, working together as a team to provide the strongest defense possible. Gary and Roger were highly responsive to my questions and available when I needed them. Every phone call and email was answered in a timely manner and they even provided guidance during my non-traditional working hours. I'm glad to have Jaburg Wilk on my team and highly recommend them.
